An error occurred while saving the comment Elizabeth commentedAgain, I'm aware that this would replace or extend current swiping options on mobile. So below follows my (personal) feedback on those current swiping options, and their value relative to the proposed swipe-to-add-an-item option.
Current swiping set-up is just okay. I like swipe right to zoom, and use it a lot. It's definitely not the same as swipe-to-quickly-add, though. There's still lots of screen clicks and repositioning to start typing a new task, even after one has zoomed to the desired place in the outline.
Next: swipe left for mark-complete and hard-left for delete has NEVER been my favorite. For one, I'm afraid I'm accidentally going to delete something so I almost never use it. Secondly, I find it's oddly redundant with the quick-to-tick checkboxes for "completable" tasks! Actually, I find the prominence of a default, end-of-line "mark-completed" option off-putting on desktop, too. Personally I don't see everything in my outline -- especially headers -- as "completable." So I like the control of using checkboxes to custom-specify (and draw attention to!) items in my outline that ARE completable. I guess it follows that I'm not that into the swipe-absolutely-any-line-item-to-mark-it-complete feature on mobile either.

I've noticed this too.
