Yes! I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
It's sooo confusing!!!Each time i see something in agenda i have the thought: "This is scheduled in the wrong day!".. then i think, and think a little bit more, until i understand it's (usually) ok...
That's a 2 minute process it usually happens to me when seeing each scheduled item, so, all the time.. -

This is important to work on the fly. I currently need to be very careful to avoid confusion as I am working in a format which is not natural for me in India

I totally agree. Having 06/01/15 means 6th of January in French...
