tag panel with hierarchical tags and smart-lists
a seperate panel for tags and where smart-lists can be created with combinations of certain tags and dates and other filters.

This would be amazing, and kind of necessary. The number of items per tag would also be nice.

Is there currently a way to edit the tag list? That's what I need at a minimum. But the idea of providing this as a separate panel is a good one!
